EVIDENCE-BASED INFORMATION

Our Scientific Sources

At Excellence In Fitness, our approach to strength training is shaped by more than 20 years of experience working one-on-one with adults—and informed by established research in exercise science, strength training, and healthy aging.

The information we share through Healthy Aging Insights draws from respected medical, scientific, and professional organizations, along with peer-reviewed research when appropriate.

SOURCES WE TRUST

Research Behind Our Approach

We look to established medical, scientific, and professional organizations for guidance on strength training, physical activity, healthy aging, bone health, mobility, and long-term health.

American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

A leading authority in exercise science and sports medicine, providing evidence-based guidance on resistance training, physical activity, and healthy aging.

Mayo Clinic

A trusted medical resource providing evidence-based information on strength training, bone health, metabolism, cardiovascular health, and healthy aging.

National Institute on Aging (NIA)

Part of the National Institutes of Health, the NIA supports research and provides guidance on maintaining strength, mobility, independence, and health as we age.

Johns Hopkins Medicine

Research and clinical guidance covering exercise, aging, musculoskeletal health, cardiovascular health, and disease prevention.

HOW WE USE RESEARCH

From Research to Real-World Strength

When we develop educational content for Healthy Aging Insights, we look beyond individual headlines or isolated studies. When appropriate, we consider peer-reviewed research, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and position statements from established medical and exercise-science organizations.

Research helps inform the principles behind what we do, but every person is different. At EIF, those principles are applied through individualized, one-on-one coaching based on each client’s abilities, goals, training history, and progress.

OUR COMMITMENT

Evidence That Supports Better Decisions

Our goal is to provide clear, useful information that helps people better understand the role strength training can play in staying strong, capable, and independent throughout life.

As research and recommendations evolve, we periodically review and update our Healthy Aging Insights to reflect current evidence from trusted sources.
