Wade Ellinger, EIF Head Coach / Supervisor

Wade EllingerEIF Supervisor, Wade Ellinger was born in Denver, Colorado in 1983 and was raised in South Park in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. At age 5, he became involved in snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. When he was 9 years old, he started competing in youth snow-cross and various "Enduro" races on snowmobiles and cross-country skis. From age 7 to 14, Wade played ice and roller hockey. The final 3 years he played in the "Memorial Cup," and was the leading scorer in 2 of those last 3 seasons in which his team won the "Cup."

In the summer months, starting when he was 7, he competed in 4-H wrangling, barrel races and show horses. Wade took Grand Champion 2 of 4 years in wrangling and placed 3rd in the state finals of barrel racing. He also joined the junior high school football team playing wide receiver and safety, as well as playing forward on the basketball team for the South Park Burros. The basketball team made it to the state finals in his 7th and 8th grade years.

Wade competed on the basketball, football and track teams as well as snow-cross and moto-cross his freshman year at South Park High School. At age 15, he won 1st place in the "Extreme Mountain Snowmobiling" at Steamboat Snow X. He then moved on to hillclimb and freestyle snow-cross and was featured in a "Powder Bound" video.

In 1999, he moved to Maryland with his mother and sister and attended Broadneck High School for one year before transferring to Massanutten Military Academy where he participated in cadence comps and track & field comps. He then returned to Colorado to finish high school while continuing to compete in snowmobile and moto-cross events. Wade shattered 14 bones on his left foot in an "Enduro" event for moto-cross and was forced to sit-out 2 seasons. He then returned to Maryland at age 19 and attended Anne Arundel Community College. Wade is certified as a Personal Trainer from the National Strength Professionals Association and is also EIF Body of Excellence certified. He currently competes in a competitive basketball league and touch-football league.
